Artist of the Month - February 2013 - Helen Austin

Helen Austin is an award winning singer/songwriter who began her twenty year musical journey in the UK, first as a classical musician, then a musical stand-up comedian and now on Vancouver Island, Canada as an amazing performer of eclectic riveting songs.

Helen makes her home in Courtney, British Columbia and is very involved in the local arts and music scene and contributing to national charities such as the song “The Relay for Life”  which Helen wrote as a fun raiser for the Canadian Cancer Society. This CD is available on iTunes.

The song we heard was entitled, “Every Time You Catch Me”, from Helen’s new album called “You Knew Me”. The new album has superstar producer Bleu working with Helen and we love the synergetic result of this collaboration.

If Helen Austin’s music sounds familiar, you likely have heard her before on TV, in films and advertising. Helen has placed over 70 synch songs in the music licensing world and I bet many more to come. Helen Austin has demonstrated how a creative music artist can expand beyond the traditional confines of playing live and releasing albums.

Helen has 4 songs in the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition 2013 and King Minion is very pleased to see the world acknowledging this very talented musician.

Helen Austin can be found on her very impressive website, Helen Austin. And please visit, there is so much information and videos on the site for everyone to enjoy.
Helen is on Twitter, Facebook and videos on uTube.
Music downloads on iTunes and Bandcamp. Helen has many music releases I count up to 8 and her new album is due out very soon.
King Minion very proud to have Helen Austin as Artist of the month for February 2013.

Artist of the Month - January 2013 - Kytami

Kytami

It is a New Year and time for new beginnings and time to introduce you new new musical artists. Ladies and gentlemen it is my very great honor to introduce the King Minion Music Podcast Artist of the Month for January 2013.

“If a line exists between classical and electronic, between ancient and new age, synthetic and organic, Kytami has sliced them all using only a violin bow .... but what more does she need?”

Kytami is from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada (Yet another exceptional musician from the Garden City). The song you heard is entitled “Unity” and Kytami’s latest album called Kytami contains ten exceptional songs to get your groove on. Her album is a diverse delight for your ears, served up with epicurian mistress musicianship at it’s best.

Kytami has unlimited musical influences that flow seemlessly throughout her music. Classical to rap to world beat, dubstep, rockin fiddle and all within the same song.

Kytami the album is available on Bandcamp for $10 it’s worth paying $20 for. She also has a single available called Supermoon is a great mix of Numbersix vs. Kytami.

If I had the influence, I would tell the federal Minister of Culture to make sure Kytami plays the Big stage in Ottawa on July 1st for the Canada Day Celebrations! She is a truly a national musical treasure and an inspiration to every young girl that aspires to play the violin.

Kytami can be found on kytami.ca (her official website) Facebook, Twitter, Reverbnation and sound cloud. Music downloads on Bandcamp and great videos on uTube. Once you watch Kytami’s live video you are just going to have to go to her live shows. The music the magic the showomanship of Kytami is an experience you want to enjoy live.

Cassie O'Neil Cinematography

Now Kytami did something that I consider very trend setting.
Kytami teamed up with my good friend Cassie of Cassie O’Neil Cinematography to produce what I call a Video Biz Card. It is a three minute video with live shots, a sample of her music and a micro documentary style interview of Kytami. This is just brilliant!

If you are looking for the newest trend kids this is it! In one simple link you can send a Vid Biz Card like this to agents, managers, event bookers and they get to see and hear what your band is all about. Three minutes is perfect for getting their attention for your career.

Feel free to contact Cassie O’Neil Cinematography (Facebook) or visit her website on antlerlash.com to see if this product will work for your band.
